The goal of this project was to use 3D design to create a photograph for the blind.
Since I was experienced at 3D design, I wanted to improve my java skills by writing a program
that could take any photograph and convert it into a photograph for the blind.
The program reads the alpha value of each pixel in an image, and converts that value into the height of a corresponding rectangular prism.
The result is a textured surface that can to a degree, be understood by someone with impaired sight.
My final concept was 3D printed, and could be kept as a draped, thin photograph, or mounted on its support material.
